Introducing Pokatimus

Pokatimus is a new farm in Norwell, Massachusetts committed to practicing sustainable small-scale agriculture, increasing bio-diversity by raising rare breeds of livestock, and contributing to the development of the local infrastructure needed to support our collective efforts to grow, raise, and distribute organic crops and humanely-raised meat and dairy products on Boston's South Shore.

The name Pokatimus comes from the Algonquin word for white oak tree--many of which can be found on the grounds--and represents our respect for the former stewards of this land--natives and early settlers alike.  We hope our efforts here honor their values as we move to resurrect the sustainable traditions they abided by.
